The Pittsburgh Steelers have a revamped offense in 2025.
The team traded for star wideout DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks, giving them one of the better pass-catchers in the league for new starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Outside of Metcalf, the current Steelers receiving corps. combined for less than 700 yards in 2024. To set their future Hall of Fame quarterback up for success, the Steelers need to add another playmaker.
Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report believes Jakobi Meyers, who has requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders due to a contract dispute, could be a great fit for the Steelers.
He even suggested the following trade package:
- Steelers receive: WR Jakobi Meyers
- Raiders receive: 2026 5th-round pick and CB James Pierre
"The team is in desperate need of a No. 2 receiver to better support DK Metcalf, and they're obviously all-in on 2025 with Aaron Rodgers under center," Gagnon wrote. "Like the Patriots and Jets, they're in solid cap shape."
Meyers went undrafted in 2019 but signed with the New England Patriots as a free agent. In his rookie season, he recorded 26 receptions for 359 yards.
Although those numbers don’t jump off the page, Meyers has improved every year since.
He is coming off an impressive season with just over 1,000 receiving yards and has totaled 800 or more in each of the past three season. For his career, Meyers has totaled more than 4,500 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Adding a promising playmaker like Meyers alongside Metcalf would make the Steelers’ offense more explosive and give their new star quarterback an easier path to success.
