Aaron Rodgers, Steelers drama gets 'hopeful' update after George Pickens trade image

The Pittsburgh Steelers traded wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday after months of rumors. Now, still, the attention is on quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Will Rodgers sign with the Steelers? Pittsburgh minority owner Thomas Tull had no answer and instead gave a perfect AI response when asked earlier in the week.

After the Pickens trade, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler gave a new update on the Rodgers front.

"On Pittsburgh's offense, post-Pickens trade: -#Steelers remain in contact with Aaron Rodgers and are hopeful that he'll be a Steeler. But, as of now, no hard update."

Fowler said the Steelers are "hopeful" that Rodgers will be a Steeler, although nobody knows at this point. But, the fact the Steelers have been in contact with the veteran is also a bit of a positive sign.

Moreover, New York Jets WR Allen Lazard also has emerged as a possible option for the Steelers in the WR room. Lazard played with Rodgers in New York and with the Green Bay Packers.

So, for now, the two sides have been in contact, and who knows when this Rodgers-Steelers drama will come to an end.
