Jeff Saturday blasts Drew Brees for 'Eagles offense is boring' comment image

In his ESPN "First Take" debut, New Orleans Saints great Drew Brees stirred up controversy that ruffled some feathers. Brees stirred debate when he called the Philadelphia Eagles' offense "the most boring."

"Hey, I respect Philly," Brees said on Monday. "I respect Philly. They are winning games. They're finding way to win games. I can't stand to watch that offense. It's the most boring offense."

Jeff Saturday responds to Drew Brees' comments on Eagles

Jeff Saturday, who won a Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts, responded sharply on Wednesday to Brees' criticism.

"Let me just show you my shock face," Saturday said on ESPN's Get Up. "A quarterback saying that running the ball is not fun to watch. They have won 19 to 20 games doing it a certain way and a Super Bowl by the way in the mix of all this and you call a boy."

Saturday praised the Eagles' offensive line and physical running game. "I like watching more and I love to watch offensive line play, which is much more impressive to me," he said. Saturday also referenced his Super Bowl loss to Brees' Saints, adding, "I'm still salty about that."

There's been plenty of criticism around the Eagles lately, especially concerning their signature tush push play. Most of the backlash targets the trick play, with many calling on the NFL to ban it. It's safe to say that Drew Brees will be among those opposing it.
