Eagles Week 15 NFL power rankings: Is Philly a top-10 team after loss to Chargers? image

The Philadelphia Eagles saw quarterback Jalen Hurts play the worst game of his career in the Week 14 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night.

Hurts was awful, completing 21-of-40 passes for 240 yards and four interceptions to zero touchdowns, and he had just eight rushing yards. The Eagles quarterback had a fifth turnover after he lost a fumble.

Despite how putrid Hurts was, the Eagles still had a chance to win the game late in the fourth quarter thanks to its defense, and then again in overtime, but the unit couldn't seal the deal and the game ended with Hurts' fourth pick.

The 8-5 Eagles remain in first place in the NFC East and still have a robust 93% chance to make the playoffs, and a 92% chance to win the division.

However, there is no doubt this team is reeling and may not last long in the playoffs, assuming Philly can actually finish the job and get there.

Here's how Philly's loss to Los Angeles impacts their standing in the NFL power rankings of experts.

Eagles Week 15 NFL power rankings

Vinnie Iyer, AllSportsPeople: 11 (-2)

Iyer: "The Eagles failed to keep pace with the the Rams, Seahawks and Packers in the NFC to-seed race by losing to the Chargers. Jalen Hurts and the offense found a new nightmare with his five turnovers ahead of hopefully getting well vs. The Raiders."

Nate Davis, USA TODAY: 13 (-2)

Davis: "If a team goes as its quarterback goes? Jalen Hurts doubled his season turnover total from five to 10 on Monday night, becoming the first player since the league expanded to a 16-game schedule in 1978 to commit two giveaways on a single play. After going to two Super Bowls in three seasons, it's sure starting to feel like Philly will now experience two cheesesteak meltdowns in three seasons."

NFL Nation, ESPN: 9 (-3)

Tim McManus: "The Eagles have been among the worst on three-and-outs for most of the season -- shocking giving all the talent on that side of the ball. But a mix of pre-snap penalties and a substantial drop in rushing success has prevented the offense from getting into a flow. They ranked 11th in third-down success rate last season (40.28%) but entered Monday's game near the bottom at 34.46%."

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: 12 (-5)

Prisco: "Jalen Hurts just isn't playing well enough, and the play-calling has been awful. Three straight losses has them tumbling down the rankings."
