The weather forecast for the Dallas Cowboys at the Philadelphia Eagles has taken a turn for the head-on collision.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m., and that's when it looks like thunderstorms might be rolling in.
Could there be a lightning delay? It's definitely possible.
If there isn't, it might be a run-heavy first half.
Earlier in the day, the chance of precipitation at kickoff was listed at below 50%. Now, multiple weather services show the storm coming right on time.
The weather is something to monitor tonight. There are storms expected to roll in right around kickoff, with potential lightning in the area a delay could happen. #Eagles pic.twitter.com/1qsBb9cLnd

NFL lightning delay rules
The NFL will delay a game if lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius.
There's a 30-minute wait after the most recent lightning strike before play can resume.
During lightning delays, fans are asked to seek cover on the concourse of the stadium and not remain in their seats, while teams go into their respective locker rooms.

Eagles vs. Cowboys weather forecast update impacts fantasy outlooks
If the forecast is as bad as projected, that's not good for passing games.
It doesn't necessarily hurt Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, because he can run. But wide receivers A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith are knocked down slightly (although it's still hard to sit them).
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, already a potential sit, might get the biggest downgrade if the weather is nasty. Although if the teams sit out a lightning delay, maybe the playing conditions won't be too bad when the game is actually ongoing.
You can't sit CeeDee Lamb, but maybe George Pickens gets downgraded, too, if you're particularly worried about the storm.

But the season opener rights are owned by NBC, so the game will be put on by the usual Sunday Night Football team and be streamed on NBC's streaming property, Peacock.
