A.J. Brown is a trade candidate, maybe, if the Philadelphia Eagles want him to be.

But the reality is that the defending Super Bowl champions won't be in a rush to get rid of their No. 1 wide receiver, no matter his early season struggles.

And they certainly haven't done any such thing yet. Brown is still with the Eagles, despite a viral social media post saying otherwise.

The parody account on X, NFL Drop, posted a Brown trade, saying he had been sent to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a third-round pick.

He has not.

At least NFL Drop acknowledges what it's up to. The first word in its bio on X is "satire."

It hasn't stopped more than 100,000 people from viewing the fake trade news as of midday Tuesday.

The Steelers certainly could use a second strong WR to pair with DK Metcalf.

And the vibes have been weird for Brown in Philly, to be sure.

There have been limited targets and even more limited catches, along with a couple passive-aggressive social media posts from Brown and an odd meeting that did or didn't happen between Brown and QB Jalen Hurts and RB Saquon Barkley.

The Eagles don't gain much from getting rid of Brown, unless he throws a stink that forces them to move on.

For now, Brown is still in Philadelphia, and that seems to be the most likely place he'll stay. In the meantime, speculation about trades for him will continue, even if it doesn't quite add up.
