A.J. Brown doesn't appear to be having all that much fun.

The Philadelphia Eagles' star wide receiver has mostly kept his mouth shut and done what has been asked of him. Just on Monday night, he had a great block down the field to help spring Saquon Barkley on a long catch-and-run.

But there have been just enough signs for football fans to recognize that this hasn't been Brown's favorite season.

It starts with the fact that he just isn't getting the football as much.

Brown is averaging 3.9 catches per game, which is by far the lowest average he's had since his rookie season of 2019. His 51.0 yards per game is an even lower mark than his rookie season, when he was a big-play threat for the Titans.

There hasn't been the volume or the explosiveness, and while maybe some of that is Brown's fault, it's hard to solely blame a wide receiver. After all, they never start the play with the football.

Anyway, all that to say that Brown's frustrations are a bit warranted.

He shared some new ones in a stream, telling the streamer JankyRondo that "it's a s—show" and that he's "struggling, brother."

It's not great optics, of course, that this comes while the Eagles are 7-2 and coming off a win.

But Brown was so quiet in that Monday night victory over the Packers that on the ESPN2 ManningCast broadcast, Peyton Manning was stumped in the second half as to whether Brown had even caught a pass (he'd caught two).

It's not clear that this will get better, either. Jalen Hurts is relying heavily on tight end Dallas Goedert, and this will always be a run-first offense.

Brown might just have to find a way to push through the struggle.
