This season Philadelphia Eagles superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown has recorded more than 30 receiving yards just once.
It's important to note he recorded six receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown catch in that performance in a victory over the Los Angeles Rams. However, outside of that, Brown is seeing few targets and little production.
He is rightfully frustrated, as he's meant to be the top receiving threat in one of the NFL's best offenses. Brown broke silence Wednesday about his feelings toward the lack of production, providing the media with an answer most fans are deeming respectable and mature.
“I think it’s fair to want the ball to get us going," Brown began. "Last week against the Rams, I caught the sluggo, got the offense going, next play it opened up Dallas Goedert when the safety came to my side and opened it up.. It’s not just for targets or anything or putting numbers up. No."
The puzzling part is Philadelphia's other star WR, DeVonta Smith, is also not putting up impressive statistics. He is yet to tally more than 60 yards in a game this season.
Brown continued, "I see that we're struggling, and I'm a guy that wants the ball in those times. When we can’t find a way, give it to me. Game on the line? Give the ball to me. I want that pressure."

"I work hard for it, and so if that’s the misconstrued whatever perspective you have, it is what it is, and I don’t care, to be honest. My teammates know. When the game's on the line, look at me, and I want everybody in the stadium to know that." Brown concluded.
The Eagles having a 4-0 record with disappointing numbers from their top two receiving threats is both promising and concerning. It's positive because it means the offense is not reliant on Brown or Smith, but to repeat as Super Bowl champions, offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo needs to find ways to get them involved.
