Super Bowl contenders clash on "Sunday Night Football" as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs welcome the stalwart Lions

It would be silly to write off Kansas City (2-3) even amid a pedestrian start. In an odd twist, the Chiefs have lost three one-score games already this season after posting a 12-0 record in one-score games — including the postseason — last year.

Maybe things begin to turn this week in another high-profile matchup. Remember, the last time we saw the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium, they put together a complete performance in a 17-point demolition of the Ravens.

But the Lions (4-1) are rolling, looking every bit as dangerous as they have been each of the past two seasons. Detroit has scored at least 34 points in four straight games following a 37-24 win over the Bengals on Sunday.

It's a multi-pronged attack, too. Five different players scored touchdowns last Sunday. Impressively, that group didn't even include receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who leads the NFL with six receiving touchdowns.

The Sporting News gets you set to watch "Sunday Night Football" with TV and streaming information for the game.
