Party like it's 2015.

That's what the Commanders will want to do on Monday night. Plenty has changed in that time — a new name, new owners, new players and a new energy. Much has changed throughout the world, too. Bruno Mars topped the charts that year and movies like "Jurassic World," and "Star Wars: Episode VII" dominated at the box office.

That year was also the last time the Ravens lost a preseason game. And although that part of the schedule contains fewer games than it once did, 24 consecutive wins is hard to discount. Baltimore narrowly escaped with a one-point win in its 2023 preseason opener, but it takes some luck to keep a streak like that alive.

As the Ravens visit their Maryland neighbors, the Commanders come into the new campaign with a renewed sense of hope. The stadium might be falling apart, but Rome wasn't built in a day.

While the Ravens will be the focus with their new-look offense thanks to Todd Monken's arrival, most of the intrigue surrounds Sam Howell and the Washington quarterback situation. So cue up the "Monday Night Football" theme and settle in for a Monday night party.
