The Rams host the Texans, who will make their first-ever trip to Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium for the Week 1 showdown to kick off the 2025 NFL season.
Both teams made it to the postseason a year ago but suffered heartbreak during the Divisional Round. The Rams took the NFC West crown after a late surge to finish 10-7, while the Texans claimed back-to-back AFC South titles with the same 10-7 record before a 34-10 playoff loss to the Ravens.
For the Rams, veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford enters his 17th NFL season while dealing with a back injury throughout the preseason but will still play the opener. Los Angeles have a new-look passing attack in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, while it remains to be seen if Stafford consistently finds the duo amid nagging back issues.
Houston, meanwhile, are sweating over running back Joe Mixon, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury since July and could miss at least the first four games this season. That leaves Texans signal-caller C.J. Stroud to shoulder much of the load as he prepares for a potential homecoming, returning to Los Angeles for the first time as a pro.
