Through six weeks of the season, history has yet to repeat itself both in the short term and long term.

In the short term, the Packers haven't replicated their clunker of a game in Week 1 when they lost 38-3 and after which quarterback Aaron Rodgers assured people they'd right the ship. They have and Green Bay has won five in a row and sits firmly atop the NFC North.

In the long term, it seems as though Washington's NFC East title from a year ago may have been a fluke.

The Washington Football Team, despite having a defensive-minded head coach in Ron Rivera, has one of the league's worst defenses. They've lost two games in a row and have given up the most points and second-most yards of any team in the NFL this season.

Offensively, they haven't been much better. They're middle-of-the-road in most major offensive categories and have been riddled with injuries, especially at wide receiver. Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown and Curtis Samuel have all either missed significant game time or practice time at various points throughout the season, including this week.

Green Bay has been anchored by a solid season from Aaron Rodgers and his top receiver Davante Adams, who leads the NFL in receptions and receiving yards. Running back Aaron Jones has also been solid for the Packers this year, especially in the passing game, where he's got four receiving touchdowns already.

At 5-1, the Packers have a nice cushion and would remain atop the division even with a loss. Washington seems to be trending downward at 2-4, though it did start the season at 2-5 last year before finishing 7-9 with a playoff berth.
