Best NFL ATS Picks & Sportsbook Odds
Week 5 is the first time that we have teams on a bye, which is why there is a lighter NFL betting slate this week. Make each of these NFL picks against the spread or try to combine markets and create a parlay.
Vikings vs. Browns
Another international game for the Vikings, this time in London. The intrigue here is that Dillon Gabriel is making his first career NFL start, taking over for the benched Joe Flacco. That said, it is hard to imagine what Myles Garrett and this Browns defensive line is going to do to Carson Wentz and a banged-up Vikings offensive line, so the Browns keep this one close.
Pick: Browns +4.5 (-115) DraftKings
Texans vs. Ravens
The big news heading into this game is that it looks as though Lamar Jackson is going to miss, with Cooper Rush as the Ravens starting QB this week. Due to that, the spread has moved to the Ravens being underdogs, which is brutal considering they are already 1-3. The Texans defense is fantastic, but here are the point totals they have put up on offense through four games: 9, 19, 10, 26. That last game is misleading, as it was 6-0 in the fourth quarter before the Texans piled it on to end the game. Take the Ravens as underdogs.
Pick: Ravens +2 (-110) Fanatics
Dolphins vs. Panthers
The Dolphins just got their first win of the season, while the Panthers are coming off getting blown out by the Patriots. For whatever reason, the Panthers seem to perform much better at home over the last couple years, so we'll take them against a bad Dolphins team now missing Tyreek Hill.
Pick: Panthers +1.5 (-115) BetMGM
Raiders vs. Colts
The Colts lost their first game of the year last week, in a tough battle against the Rams. People keep waiting on Daniel Jones to turn back into the QB we saw when he was on the Giants, but that does not seem to be the case. On the other side, Geno Smith has really struggled with turnovers this year, throwing seven interceptions in four games, twice throwing for three in a game. Couple that with a bad Raiders defense, and this is a Colts win & cover.
Pick: Colts -6.5 (-115) DraftKings
Giants vs. Saints
Two of the worst teams in the NFL facing off in a pillow fight. The Giants, now without Malik Nabers for the entire season and coming off a fun victory against the Chargers in Jaxson Dart’s first career start, come back down to earth against the Saints.
Pick: Saints -1.5 (-108) DraftKings
Cowboys vs. Jets
The Jets are 0-4 and seem incapable of getting out of their own way, as so eloquently put by Breece Hall. The Cowboys offense has been mostly fantastic, even amid injuries to their OL and star WR CeeDee Lamb and are going up against a Jets team who do not seem to have the ability to attack the Cowboys biggest weakness on defense: defending the pass.
Pick: Cowboys -2.5 (-110) ESPN BET
Broncos vs. Eagles
The Eagles are the living embodiment of the "they can't keep getting away with this" meme, 4-0 and 3-1 against the spread despite looking like they have never practiced on offense through six of the eight halves of football they have played, which includes the Eagles going the entire second half last week without completing a single pass. Eventually, they will not be able to keep winning like this, which comes due against a good Broncos team this week.
Pick: Broncos +4 (-115) BetMGM
Titans vs. Cardinals
The Cardinals are on their third and fourth-string RBs in this one and have an offense that is incredible frustrating to watch. That said, the Cardinals are also getting healthy on defense and are a solid team defensively in general. The Titans are 0-4 and look completely outmatched on offense, getting shut out by the Texans last week.
Pick: Cardinals -7.5 (-108) DraftKings
Buccaneers vs. Seahawks
Sam Darnold has admittedly much better than expected in his first year in Seattle, which most (including yours truly) expecting him to not be able to match what he did last year with the Vikings. The Bucs, meanwhile, started the year 3-0 but with a total point differential of five points, before losing for the first time to the Eagles last week. it becomes two in a row in Seattle.
Pick: Seahawks -3.5 (+100) DraftKings
Lions vs. Bengals
Since Joe Burrow went down in Week 2, the Bengals have lost two straight games by a combined 63 points. They have only scored 13 points in those two games and have allowed 76. Hot take: that's bad.
The Lions have never been shy to run up the score on inferior opponents, but the NFL is a weird league, and we have seen teams look dead before playing better the following week. Bengals keep this one at least in single digits.
Pick: Bengals +10.5 (-110) BetMGM
Commanders vs. Chargers
After missing two games, it looks as though the Commanders are getting healthy with QB Jayden Daniels returning this week. The Chargers have real issues at the OL position, losing another tackle to injury last week, this time left tackle Joe Alt.
With that being said, the Chargers have clear advantages at the skill positions, most notably their WRs against a weak Commanders secondary. Maybe this is the week Ladd McConkey finally breaks out? Either way, Chargers bounce-back after last weeks loss to the Giants.
Pick: Chargers -2.5 (-115) DraftKings
Patriots vs. Bills
After an improbable comeback victory against the Ravens in Week 1, the Bills have won three straight games by double-digits, albeit against weak opponents. It’s TBD what this Patriots team ends up being, but the guess here is that the Bills win in another double-digit victory on Sunday night Football.
Pick: Bills -7.5 (-110) ESPN BET
Chiefs vs. Jaguars
Who would have thought that this Monday Night Football matchup would feature a 3-1 Jaguars team with a better record than the 2-2 Chiefs. The Jaguars defense has been one of the biggest upside surprises to start the year, but they are benefitting off a lot of turnover luck.
After a rough start to the year, the Chiefs have gotten healthier and seemed to figure some things out on offense, and the guess here is that continues Monday night against a Jaguars team that is not quite as good as a 3-1 record would indicate.
Pick: Chiefs -3 (-118) FanDuel
