NFL odds, lines, point spreads: Updated Week 8 betting information for picking every game image

Week 8 offers another exciting set of wagering opportunities for NFL bettors after we were treated to four underdogs winning outright in Week 7 (Panthers, Commanders, Seahawks, and Giants). Of those four teams, Carolina was the biggest surprise as a 13-point 'dog to Tampa Bay. Along with the Bucs losing on Sunday, we also saw the Falcons (+6.5) suffer their first loss against the spread (6-1) in a 35-17 defeat to the Bengals.

To kick off Week 8, we have a good Thursday Night Football matchup between two perennial powers, as the Ravens will fly down south to take on the reeling Buccaneers. Finally, on Sunday, we have a 13-game slate where bettors can find some interesting angles on player props, sides, totals, and money lines, especially with only two teams on a bye (Chiefs and Chargers) and a London matchup between the Broncos and Jaguars.

Lastly, to wrap up the action on Monday night, we have a classic AFC North battle between the Bengals and Browns. The Bengals are currently three-point road favorites after winning their second-straight game in Week 7 over the Falcons, while the Browns are looking to snap their four-game losing streak.

Please remember that the odds and lines will move throughout the week as we get updates on various injuries across the league. There could be some opportunity for closing line value (CLV) in a few games leading up to kickoff. Below, we take a look at the latest odds for Week 8 from Caesars Sportsbook and provide a few best bets that need to be on your radar.

NFL best bets for Week 8

Commanders (+3) vs. Colts

The oddsmakers have the line wrong for this game, as the Colts should not be laying three points to any team right now. Indianapolis has not looked great this season, limping to a 3-3-1 record with just one quality win at home against Kansas City. The Commanders' spread is the play here, as they took care of business against the Packers with the two-point upset win. Taylor Heinicke, who knows this offense, kept the chains moving and threw a couple of touchdowns. Washington also got their running game going, posting 166 yards. This is a key stat, as the Colts allow 123.4 rushing yards per game this season.

This game will come down to which quarterback makes the fewer mistakes and if the Commanders can slow down Jonathan Taylor. Heinicke is the better quarterback than Sam Ehlinger, who is making his first career start after taking over for an ineffective Matt Ryan. Washington is 1-3 ATS as an underdog this season, while Indianapolis is 1-3 ATS as a favorite.

Bengals (-3) vs. Browns

Sticking with the road teams, we will roll with the Bengals, who are trending in the right direction while things are going south for the Browns. Cincinnati has won two-straight games in impressive fashion, and Cleveland has lost four consecutive games by an average of 7.8 points per game. Out of the four losses, three have come by three points and two were at home (New England and Chargers). Based on how divisional games go in the NFL, this one should be close, and Cleveland has an edge with its running game. However, the Browns were dealt a significant blow to their passing game when TE David Njoku injured his ankle last week. Without Njoku, Cleveland lacks a secondary receiving threat behind Amari Cooper. With Cincinnati's offense firing on all cylinders, take the Bengals to cover. They're 4-2 ATS as a favorite this season and 2-1 ATS as a road favorite.

Panthers (+4) vs. Falcons

A lot of bettors will stay from this game due to the blahness of both teams. However, we will take a chance and lay the points with Carolina. The Panthers are coming off a tough 21-3 victory over the Buccaneers. QB P.J. Walker looked much better under center in Week 7, passing for 177 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers also got a boost from their running back duo of Chuba Hubbard and D'Onta Foreman, which is much more explosive than the Falcons' duo of Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley.

The Falcons could also be missing multiple starters from their secondary, which includes standout cornerback A.J. Terrell (hamstring). The public will likely back the Falcons, who are 6-1 ATS this season, but with the injuries and the Panthers playing better over the past two weeks, Steve Wilks' crew can keep it close.
