This story has been updated from a previous version.

The NFL Draft for many players is the realization of years' worth of work to reach the pinnacle of the sport. And while the vast majority of players drafted will celebrate the event outside the draft venue — Kansas City, Mo., in this case — a select few inevitably choose to attend in person.

This year, 17 players attended the 2023 NFL Draft, waiting in the green room for their name to be called. Some prospects, such as Alabama's Bryce Young and Will Anderson Jr., Ohio State's C.J Stroud and Florida's Anthony Richardson, didn't have to wait long to walk across the stage and give NFL commissioner Roger Goodell a hug.

But four players were left to wait until Friday's second and third rounds to get drafted. That group is headlined by Kentucky quarterback Will Levis, who was widely projected as a first-round prospect. His draft-day slide was among the most notable storylines of Thursday's first round.

Nick Roush of Kentucky Sports Radio reported on Friday that Levis would not attend the second day of the 2023 NFL Draft after sliding entirely out of the first round:

It's an unfortunate and embarrassing reality for Levis and the players still waiting to hear their names called, especially after viewers nationwide watched their disappointment on Thursday. It's one Kyle Brandt of the NFL Network said could have been avoided by inviting fewer players to the draft.

Brandt is right in that players attending the draft should know without a doubt they will be picked in the first round. That said, three of the players remaining in the green room were mocked by The Sporting News as first-rounders, with only Georgia Tech defensive tackle Keion White projected outside the top 32 on TSN's top-200 big board.

Here's a look at the players who are still waiting for their names to be called in the 2023 NFL Draft:
