The NFL Week 6 schedule begins with an NFC East rivalry for Thursday Night Football as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the New York Giants. The Eagles are coming off their first loss of the season and a surprising amount of turmoil for a 4-1 team.

They will be taking on the 1-4 Giants, one week removed from their first win of the season. For this article, we will be focusing on our favorite Eagles-Giants prop picks and predictions. Try using NFL betting bonuses on BetMGM and FanDuel for these wagers.

Eagles-Giants Prop PicksOdds
Saquon Barkley Over 83.5 Rushing Yards -115 on BetMGM
A.J. Brown Over 60.5 Receiving Yards-115 on BetMGM
Jaxson Dart Over 34.5 Rushing Yards-114 on FanDuel

Barkley, Finally, Has Success on the Ground

There is no doubt that it has been a disappointing start to the Eagles season on offense, and especially with Saquon Barkley. He has only hit 80 yards once this season and has been 60 yards or under in every other game. The lowlight was last week, when he had 30 yards on only 6 rushing attempts. The guess here is that the Eagles are going to over-correct and run the ball a ton with Barkley in this game.

This is all about the matchup against the Giants, which is as good as it gets from a rushing defense to target. They've allowed the 8th-most rushing yards per game specifically to RBs, but on the second-highest yards per attempt. To go even deeper than that, they are also allowing the seventh-highest adjusted yards per carry before contact and the second-highest yards after contact per attempt, which is a horrible combination of those two.

Part of the Eagles struggles with the running game is their offensive line is not nearly as good this year as it was last year due to injuries, but all metrics have them as an average offensive line as opposed to the best offensive line in football last year. Against the Giants, average OL play should lead to a big game for Barkley.

For context, seven of nine running backs against the Giants have hit their rushing prop over, and the ones that did not (Alvin Kamara, Austin Ekeler) did not receive most carries. All starting RBs have gone over, as will Barkley Thursday night.

Brown Joins Barkley, Has Big Game Thursday

Another disappointing part of the Eagles offense has been their passing game with A.J. Brown specifically, who has only recorded over 60.5 receiving yards once this year, back in Week 3 when he had 109 against the Rams. In his four other games, he has had below 43 receiving yards, including a game with just eight receiving yards. His game last week could have been salvaged if he did not give up on a deep route where he ended up wide open, but instead he was overthrown.

Like the Giants run defense, they also have an atrocious pass defense as well. That is not a great combination for a defense to be both bad on the ground and through the air, but it is perfect for an Eagles team whose offense has been stuck in the mud all season. Through Week 5, the Giants have allowed the second-most receiving yards specifically to WRs in the entire NFL on the second-most receptions as well.

They have allowed 10 of 15 wide receivers go over their receiving yards prop against them, including 114 by Rashid Shaheed last week. Brown joins Barkley, and the Eagles offense looks like 2024, at least for one week.

Dart Continues to Scramble

Jason Dart has made two starts in his NFL career and has rushed for 50+ yards in both of those starts. He had 54 yards on 10 attempts in his first start against the Chargers, and 55 yards on seven attempts last week against the Saints. Yet, the line on this over/under is still being priced at 34.5 on FanDuel, a number that we like to go over.

His scramble rate through is two starts is the second highest in the entire NFL (of all qualified QBs), only behind Tyrod Taylor, who has only made one start this year. His scramble rate of 13.16% would have led the NFL last year as well, as the highest in the 2024 season was Jayden Daniels at 12%. Not only that, but the Giants are going to be down two receivers in this game, one being Malik Nabers who is out for the entire year, and Darius Slayton is out for this game with a hamstring injury.

So, the guess here is that Dart is going to need to rely on his legs even more, and this is an Eagles defense that has allowed QBs to rush against them. Baker Mayfield went under two weeks ago against them, but last week Bo Nix hit is rushing prop over, and back in Week 2 Patrick Mahomes had 66 rushing yards on an over/under of 24.5.
