The last time we saw the Chiefs, they were being dominated by the Eagles in a crushing Super Bowl loss. It ended Kansas City's quest for a three-peat and set them on an interesting trajectory for the future.
Now Patrick Mahomes and company take on the Chargers in an AFC West showdown to open the year in São Paulo, Brazil.
The Chiefs returned their main cast of characters, led by Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and defensive tackle Chris Jones. Kansas City drafted Josh Simmons in the first round to hopefully fortify its defense.
The Chargers look similar, too, with a returning name from two years ago in receiver Keenan Allen. He'll join quarterback Justin Herbert as the key cogs of Los Angeles' offense alongside rookie running back Omarion Hampton and receiver Tre Harris.
