For the second consecutive year, the NFL is set to take center stage in Brazil.
Last season, the Eagles defeated the Packers in the first NFL game ever played in Brazil. Now an AFC West rivalry heads to São Paulo, with the Chiefs and Chargers playing at Arena Corinthians on Friday night as a part of the 2025 International Games.
Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City most recently played outside the U.S. in 2023, when they battled the Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany. The Chargers haven't played a game outside the country since 2019, when they fell to the Chiefs in Mexico City.
Both teams are coming off playoff appearances, with Kansas City falling one win shy of an elusive three-peat in a deflating Super Bowl loss. Los Angeles had itself a successful campaign in Year 1 under Jim Harbaugh, only to lose in the opening round of the playoffs.
Of late, the Chiefs have had the upper hand in the rivalry, winning the last six head-to-head meetings with the Chargers. Since 2014, Kansas City is 19-3 against its AFC West foe.
