The New York Jets haven't had the services of wide receiver Garrett Wilson for each of the last four games.
Wilson re-aggravated a knee injury he suffered earlier in the season in Week 10 and was placed on injured reserve as a result, which means he had to miss at least four games.
Now that Wilson has missed those four games, he's eligible to return from injured reserve this week, which gives him a chance to suit up against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Here's what we know about the chances of that happening.
Will Garrett Wilson return in Week 15?
At this point, it's probably a 50/50 proposition, at best, for Wilson to return in Week 15.
When asked about Wilson on Monday, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn offered nothing of substance in terms of an update.
"Those conversations will be with the doc and will be with Garrett [Wilson], and once we nail down those conversations, a decision will be made after that," he said.
As previously stated, Wilson is now eligible to be activated off injured reserve after missing the last four games, so that at least keeps the door open for him in Week 15.
First, Wilson has to be designated to return from injured reserve, and that decision usually comes down on the Wednesday before a team plays, but we have seen teams clear a player for practice later in the week than that.
Once he's designated to return, the Jets have a 21-day window to activate him, so there is no guarantee Wilson plays even if he's designated to return this week.
The Jets have a few things to weigh here.
There is no doubt Glenn wants to finish this season strong, draft position be damned. Bringing Wilson back will help that cause.
However, the Jets are also eliminated from playoff contention and don't have a young quarterback to develop, so those could also be factors in the decision.
The bottom line is Wilson's status for Week 15 is murky, but we should know more in the next few days.
