The New York Jets lost to the Miami Dolphins in Week 14, dropping to 3-10 and officially being eliminated from playoff contention in 2025.

While Aaron Glenn's Jets have struggled in their first season with the team, they did make some NFL history not seen since 2014 during this Week 14 loss to the Dolphins.

According to ESPN's Ben Solak, the Jets are the first team since the 2014 Philadelphia Eagles to record four special teams touchdowns by Week 14 in a season.

Jets' special teams make NFL touchdown history not seen since 2014

"4: That's how many special teams touchdowns the Jets have through 14 weeks." Solak writes. "That's the most a team has had through Week 14 since the 2014 Eagles."

So far this season, the Jets have four touchdowns on special teams. Their first came in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a thriller, as the Jets blocked a 43-yard field goal and returned it for the go-ahead touchdown.

The next instance of the Jets' special teams getting a touchdown came in Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns. Kene Nwangwu returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown to tie the game for the Jets.

Exactly one Jets play later, after a Browns punt, Isaiah Williams returned a punt for a 74-yard touchdown to give the Jets their second straight special teams touchdown of the game, and their third of the season.

Finally, in Week 14, the Jets, down 21-0, forced a punt and Williams returned his second punt for a touchdown, this time going 78 yards to score the lone Jets touchdown of Week 14.

No special teams unit has been as prolific at scoring touchdowns this year as the Jets have. Four total is not only the most this season, but the most through 14 Weeks in any NFL season since the 2014 Eagles over a decade ago.
