Breece Hall is in the final year of his rookie deal and will be a free agent after the 2025 season. The New York Jets held onto him through the 2025 NFL trade deadline, paving the way for Hall to stay in New York beyond this season.
But Hall is likely to hit free agency first, and he could wind up landing a massive contract this offseason. There were plenty of teams interested in Hall this season, likely raising his free agent price tag.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler shared a contract projection for Hall, and it's a massive one. After plenty of interest from around the NFL, the dual-threat running back could be in line to receive a massive pay raise this offseason.
Breece Hall poised for massive contract raise in free agency
"That the Jets wanted a third-round pick in return for a running back reminds that Hall has top-end talent." Fowler writes. "And my sense is he will do just fine in free agency -- think Josh Jacobs' four-year, $48 million deal signed in March 2024 as a possibility."
A huge contract like that for Hall would be money worth spending, especially for a team that has a good offensive line. Teams like the Kansas City Chiefs tried to trade for Hall at the deadline, but their offseason plans are a little more unknown.
But, regardless of who winds up pursuing Hall, his productivity as a receiving back and as a runner makes him the most appealing free agent at the position this offseason.
Fowler's report suggests that Jacobs' $48 million contract is fair compensation, as "A few personnel evaluators thought that was a fair contract comp."

This season, despite the Jets' offensive struggles, Hall has 664 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns for 4.8 yards per carry, and 220 receiving yards and one touchdown on 22 receptions.
Paired with a good offensive line and a good quarterback, Hall could put up elite numbers. Hall will be 25 years old at the start of 2026 and will likely have a significant raise from his $3.4 million 2025 salary.
The only questions left are where he winds up and how much his contract winds up being. Fowler predicts it to land around $48 million total, which would be a huge deal for Hall after some shaky seasons in the Jets offense.
