ESPN predicts three contenders could be in the market for Jets' Breece Hall image

The New York Jets are the only winless team in the NFL left. Although new head coach Aaron Glenn seemed to bring a different level of energy to New York, it's not translating into wins.

The Jets are 0-7 to start the season, and have questions at the quarterback position. New York has scored just 17 combined points in the last two games.

One of the lone stars on the Jets' offense is running back Breece Hall. But, with the direction the Jets are headed, Hall could be a trade piece in the next couple of weeks.

Three contenders could pursue Breece Hall

Hall is one of the most talented running backs in the NFL, but has played on a struggling offense since he came into the league. With the star running back in a contract year and the direction the Jets' season is heading, it may be the time to move him.

"Hall is pacing for 1,000-plus rushing yards in a contract year and could be a focus for multiple teams seeking tailback help," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote. "He has said publicly he wants to stay with the Jets, and the injury to backup Braelon Allen could prompt the Jets to keep him.

"The Jets value him as a key contributor if they can somehow turn the season around. But with New York sitting at 0-7, moving players could be inevitable."

That brings us to the question of who would be in the market for Hall. ESPN named the Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans as three potential fits.

Rookie running back Omarion Hampton took over the Chargers' backfield but is now injured. Fellow rookie Kimani Vidal has stepped in, but after a strong first game against the Miami Dolphins, he struggled against the Indianapolis Colts.

Hall would bring a veteran presence that can pound the rock in coach Jim Harbaugh's offense and provide pass-catching ability out of the backfield.

The Chiefs have veteran Kareem Hunt and Isaiah Pacheco manning their backfield. Pacheco hasn't gotten back to the same kind of players he was prior to his injury and Hunt in aging.

Hall would add yet another dimension to a Chiefs' offense that is coming into form.

The Texans have veteran Nick Chubb and rookie Woody Marks. Although each have shown flashes that they can man the back field, neither guy has done so consistently.

Hall would bring another dimension to Houston's backfield, and an offense that severely needs improvement.

"He's a fluid mover with good contact balance and the vision to find daylight, and he also brings a dual-threat element to the backfield," ESPN's Matt Bowen wrote. "Hall has 171 receptions in his career. Hall has 75 rushes of 10 or more yards over three and a half seasons, so he's a three-down back with big-play juice."

The Jets have consistently said that Hall is a piece for the future and he won't be moved, and Hall has voiced his desire to remain in New York.

However, the way the season is going, the Jets might look to get something in return for the running back before he hits free agency in the offseason.

ESPN has Hall's chance at being traded set at 35 percent.
