Analyst claims Jets have one of 'nuttiest QB situations' in football image

The New York Jets' quarterback situation is one that many feel isn't exactly in the best spot with Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor.

But the Jets knew this going into the season, and felt confident in their decisions, and through three weeks, we've seen a bit of everything as the Jets sit at 0-3.

Fields has looked good and then horrible, while Tyrod started out poorly against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before a blistering turnaround nearly stole the game.

And for ESPN's Dan Graziano, the quarterback situation in New York is a little different.

“I think the Jets have one of the nuttiest QB situations so far,” Graziano writes. “Justin Fields played great in Week 1, losing narrowly to the Steelers, then played like someone who'd never seen a football before in Week 2. During that game, he left because of a concussion and then missed Week 3, in which backup Tyrod Taylor played well. The Jets are 0-3 with three very different QB performances.”

Should Jets start Tyrod Taylor in Week 4?

This will all depend on how Fields is traveling in his concussion protocol, but there is value in seeing what the offense can look like with Tyrod after last week.

The other side of the coin is that we saw some good things from Fields in Week 1, before he got curb-stomped by the Buffalo Bills, but he does offer a running threat that Tyrod doesn't.

We can see the Jets "benching" Fields right now, after a handful of games, so expect him to return to the starting role. When that will be is unknown, but we should get clarity in the coming days from Glenn.

But either way, this quarterback situation is rather interesting, and this won't be the last time this year that it comes up in conversation.
