The New York Giants welcomed back running back Tyrone Tracy for the Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he's off to a quiet start so far.
Tracy missed the previous two games due to injury, which allowed rookie running back Cam Skattebo to take the reins of the backfield. The rookie had a monster workload in both games Tracy missed and played well overall.
So far in Week 6, Tracy has not been involved in his first game back. Here's what's going on.
Is Tyrone Tracy playing tonight?
UPDATE: We're through one half and Tracy still has just one carry for one yard and he hasn't been targeted in the passing game.
Skattebo is operating as the clear lead back for New York.
END OF UPDATE
UPDATE: Tracy got his first carry of the night on the Giants' fourth drive.
It went for one yard.
END OF UPDATE
UPDATE: Tracy saw a snap on the Giants' third series but didn't get the football.
It was just a good sign to see him on the field, but don't expect a large role the rest of the way.
END OF UPDATE
Tracy is active and in the lineup, but he has not seen the field yet. In fact, even Devin Singletary got a carry before Tracy did.
That is not a good sign for Tracy, who was expected to at least spell Skattebo upon his return. It is possible the Giants are just easing him back in, which means his touches could be limited all night.
We'll continue keeping an eye out for him.
