The New York Giants have formed a daunting pass rush this offseason with Kayvon Thibodeaux being a key piece.

Though New York spent the No. 3 overall pick on Penn State star Abdul Carter, the Giants have committed to Thibodeaux for at least two more seasons after exercising the fifth-year option in his rookie contract, bringing the total of that deal to $46.1 million.

That decision most likely means Thibodeaux won't be traded despite the immense rumors leading up to the draft.

Still, the NFL has never been a league that abides by the status quo, and a handful of teams could be interested in acquiring the former first-round pick.

Among them is the Green Bay Packers, who are viewed as a prime landing spot for Thibodeaux, according to Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox.

"The Packers, who didn't add edge help until taking Barryn Sorrell in Round 4, should also see if Thibodeaux can be had. Perhaps they could acquire him for a package that includes Jaire Alexander," Knox wrote.

The Giants reportedly had a level of interest in Alexander earlier this offseason, but it was more centered around the idea that he would hit free agency.

Even if New York has a crowded defensive line room, that's more of a good problem to have than one to avoid. In theory, it would be more beneficial to figure out a rotation of star pass-rushers rather than an alternative of lacking depth.

It's unlikely a deal for Thibodeaux gets done this offseason but if it does, it would make sense if the Packers were involved.
