The New York Giants know who their running back of the present and future is: Cam Skattebo.

And with that emergence comes the possibility of a trade from elsewhere on the RB depth chart.

The Giants likely feel good about Tyrone Tracy, too, after a solid 2024 season and a recent return from injury this time around.

That leaves Devin Singletary as the potential odd man out.

And he could be the perfect way to get a new wide receiver in the building after the season-ending injury to Malik Nabers.

"The Giants don't seem to have a screaming need for Devin Singletary anymore," ESPN's Dan Graziano writes. "He's making $3.5 million in fully guaranteed salary this season. But at this point, more than $1 million of that has been paid by the Giants, who are looking around for receiver help and might be willing to eat some salary if it's the right kind of deal to help them."

Singletary is an old friend of head coach Brian Daboll, having played for him when he was the offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills, too.

But it does make sense for the Giants to move off of a surplus RB if they have the opportunity to do that.

New York's playoff chances would still require a strong surge at some point, but with Skattebo showing his talent alongside rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, the future is certainly bright for the Giants.

The present can be just a little bit brighter if they can find help at a position of need while giving up Singletary, who isn't a key component to the Giants' offense anymore.
