Why Rhamondre Stevenson isn't playing tonight for Patriots with injury news image

The New England Patriots remain one running back short on Thursday night.

The good news is that Terrell Jennings is active to take on the New York Jets, joining TreVeyon Henderson in the backfield.

The bad news is that Rhamondre Stevenson remains out.

New England will hope that absence doesn't matter against the Jets.

Why isn't Rhamondre Stevenson playing tonight?

Rhamondre Stevenson isn't playing Thursday night because he was officially named inactive about 90 minutes before kickoff.

Stevenson is out with a toe injury.

This will be the third game he has missed in a row.

When will Rhamondre Stevenson be back?

There's no clear news on Stevenson's return.

He was limited in practice on two days this week, which is a good sign.

The Pats will have the post-TNF mini-bye before Week 12, with 10 days before they take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

Henderson has played well in Stevenson's absence, and so has Jennings, so there's no guarantee the pecking order will be the same upon his return.
