The New England Patriots currently sit with the most wins in the NFL, along with the Denver Broncos, with 10. Their young quarterback Drake Maye is having one of the better sophomore campaigns in recent memory, throwing for over 3,100 yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions while posting a passer rating of 110.7.

Maye is doing this in spite of not having the best corps of weapons at his disposal. Stefon Diggs is having a good year, catching 61 passes for 679 yards, but their next leading wide receiver is Mack Hollins with 32 catches. And while the offense has been incredibly efficient with the receiving corps full of players filling specific roles, New England could add a proven weapon in the form of Diggs' former teammate.

Adam Thielen requested his release from the Minnesota Vikings, and the team granted it, making him a free agent. Bringing him in is a no-brainer for the Patriots, but could also be the move that makes the most sense for Thielen.

The Pro Bowl wideout made it clear that he wants to compete for a championship in his final NFL season. The Patriots are 10-2 and marching towards potentially being the No. 1 seed in the AFC. On top of that, Patriots receivers coach Todd Downing spent time with Thielen in Minnesota in 2018.

Considering what Thielen wants, along with the familiarity with Downing and Diggs, the Patriots make too much sense for this signing to not happen.
