Miami Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill has huge talent, big salary.

June 1 is a very important date in the NFL. That’s when the salary cap implications change.

The date allows teams to release or trade a player and have his salary cap number spread over two seasons rather than absorbed in the current year. That frees up important salary cap space.

Some of the big names expected to be traded or released starting Sunday include Miami corner Jalen Ramsey, former New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Eagles defensive lineman Bryce Huff, cornerback Jamel Dean of Tampa Bay, and edge Cameron Jordan of New Orleans.

One surprising name that may be in the June 1 bag is wide receiver Tyreek Hill of Miami. Hill carries a $25.85 million price tag in salary, all fully guaranteed.

At least two pundits believe Hill couldn’t find a new team if he has worn out his welcome in South Florida.

Michael Holley told cohost Mike Florio that no team would want to take a chance on Hill during the “Pro Football Talk: NFL on NBC” podcast.

“I was trying to think of a team that would be interested, and I can't. I can't think of a contender that would take him,” Holley said. “There were contenders that would be interested, but I think those boxes are filled now.

Holley cited Deebo Samuel in Washington and DK Metcalf in Pittsburgh as two seats already filled. The Kansas City Chiefs have already dumped him once.

“Philadelphia, no. Detroit, no. So maybe he’s seen the light because he’s also looked around the league and said, okay, there aren’t a lot of options for me. You know, if I want to be on a bigger stage or if I want a new contract, if I want to compete for a Super Bowl, it’s pretty limited. The market is limited for me.”
