The Miami Dolphins are 4-7, and not out of the playoff race just yet. Heading into a Week 13 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, the Dolphins need a win to stay alive.
Coming off their Week 12 bye, the Dolphins have the rest advantage over the Saints, and while not a direct correlation, the Dolphins also are a lot healthier. Chris Olave is questionable, and Alvin Kamara is out for the Saints. The same can't be said for Miami.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Dolphins' tight end Darren Waller got some incredible news before the Week 13 matchup. Waller, after missing time while on Injured Reserve, is being activated to play against the Saints.
Dolphins get good news on Darren Waller for Week 13 vs. Saints
"The Dolphins are activating TE Darren Waller from injured reserve, and he'll play Sunday against the Saints, per sources," Pelissero reports.
This is some incredible news for Waller and the Dolphins. While Jaylen Waddle, De'Von Achane, and Malik Washington have been solid during this 3-1 stretch for Miami, getting Waller back will be a huge boost for the offense.
Before suffering a pectoral injury in mid-October, Waller had scored four touchdowns in his first three games with Miami and was building a strong rapport with Tua Tagovailoa.
Mike McDaniel and the Dolphins offense are getting a great weapon back, and one who can make their red-zone offense a whole lot better.

With McDaniel coaching for his job, and the players seemingly responding, the return of Waller should only put the Dolphins offense in an even more favorable spot against a banged-up Saints team.
Waller, before his injury, had 10 catches for 117 yards and four touchdowns in three games. While he played in a fourth, he left early with a pec injury and has been out since the matchup against the Cleveland Browns back in Week 7.
But, he's now back as Pelissero reports the Dolphins are officially activating him for Sunday's Week 13 Saints matchup. Waller, Waddle, and Achane are a strong trio for the offense, as Tagovailoa and McDaniel have a chance to bounce back in the final stretch of the season.
