The Miami Dolphins will be looking to improve on their 8-9 record from the 2024 season. However, one NFL expert believes that Mike McDaniel and his team will regress rather than progress.
In his first year as Dolphins head coach, McDaniel guided Miami to nine wins, and then in his second season, they took a step forward with 11 victories that led to a playoff berth.
Rather than challenging the Buffalo Bills for the division in Year 3 with McDaniel, the Dolphins took a step back, and CBS Sports' Pete Prisco believes that the team will be heading in the wrong direction.
Where will the Dolphins finish in the AFC East?
Prisco appeared on 104.3 WQAM's "The Joe Rose Show," he shared his thoughts on where Miami will finish in the AFC East this season.
"Buffalo's number one," Prisco said. "I think New England will push for two, probably put them at two. I'd probably put the Jets at three, and I'd probably put Miami at four.
"When I was there for training camp and we did our hits, I said that on the air, and every Miami Dolphin fan in the world got all over me. So I said they were the worst team in the division."

Furthermore, Prisco went on to explain why he believes that the Dolphins are destined to finish at the bottom of the AFC East in his eyes, even though there is one bright spot for Miami heading into the 2025 season.
"Look, they're better in some spots, though. I give them that. That defensive line — it could be nasty, man... In Miami, you have questions in the secondary. I mean, my gosh, there's a ton of questions back there. And then the offensive line has to come together. I think that's a major question."
