Rams coach Sean McVay drops Aaron Rodgers revelation image

The Los Angeles Rams entered the offseason with questions at the quarterback position. However, in the end, they wound up staying with Matthew Stafford as he inked a deal that will earn him $44 million in 2025.

The Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants were commonly linked to Stafford if he didn't return to LA, but the one-time Super Bowl-winning QB stayed with head coach Sean McVay in hopes of making another playoff run, especially with Davante Adams in town.

As it turns out, the Rams would've tried to lure another veteran QB if Stafford left town. On Wednesday, Sean McVay spoke to Kyle Brandt, and he mentioned that Aaron Rodgers was seen as a possibility.

"Our first priority which was consistently communicated was let's work something out with Matthew," McVay said. "If that wasn't able to occur, then that (Aaron Rodgers) was definitely conversations and a possibility for us...That was a possibility."

McVay said he has a "ton of respect" for Rodgers' body of work and his approach, and the reunion with Rodgers and Adams would've been fun to see in LA.

But, Stafford stayed in LA, and Rodgers ended months of rumors by signing a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"I know there's a lot of people in Pittsburgh that's really excited that's finally come to fruition, and I'm a big fan of his," McVay concluded.

So, in an alternative universe, Stafford could've been in Las Vegas or New York, and Rodgers could've been in LA in what would've been an interesting scenario.
