The Los Angeles Chargers seem to have gotten some of their mojo back following a decisive Week 8 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Now, the team gets a chance to continue that momentum against the lowly Tennessee Titans.
The Chargers have been hit with several tough injuries this year but they keep finding ways to work around them. The most recent example of that is Kimani Vidal, a sixth-round pick last year who didn't even make the initial 53-man roster following the preseason. He was signed back to the practice squad after being waived, but is now the team's No. 1 running back, turning in 100-yard games in two of the last three outings.
The game will take place in Tennessee, but the Titans are still a team deep in the rebuilding process and could be in line for the No. 1 overall pick for the second year in a row. This is a game the Chargers must take care of business in to keep pace in the AFC West.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Tennessee Titans Week 9 expert picks
Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic: Chargers 33, Titans 13
"Justin Herbert and the Chargers are a big favorite in this game and it's not hard to see why. The Titans are 0-3 at home. They have been outscored by 120 points this season. They'll get outscored by a lot in this game."
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Chargers 33, Titans 14
"The Titans are a mess right now and they face a Chargers team that will have added rest after playing last Thursday. The Titans are giving up 7.3 yards per pass play, which is something Justin Herbert will take advantage of here. He lights them up and Cam Ward won't be able to match it."
Bill Bender, AllSportsPeople: Chargers 31, Titans 17
"Unless you are the Titans. Tennessee has lost three consecutive games by double digits, and they have a -5 turnover ratio in those games. The Chargers are 2-1 S/U on the road, and Kimani Vidal should have another big game against a Titans' run defense that allows 142.6 rushing yards per game."
Vinnie Iyer, AllSportsPeople: Chargers 34, Titans 14
"The Chargers were once coached by Titans interim Mike McCoy. That's just a statement that has no relevance to the fact that the Titans' defense stinks all-around and will get burned by Justin Herbert and all of his receivers and runners. Cam Ward will do his best again but there's just not enough personnel or schematic help."
