In the wake of multiple injuries at the running back position, Los Angeles Chargers fans are wondering if general manager Joe Hortiz will make a trade before the deadline on Nov. 4.

Not only did the Chargers lose Omarion Hampton to injured reserve because of an ankle injury, but Najee Harris has been lost for the season with a torn Achilles.

The first game without Hampton went well, as Kimani Vidal stepped up big time to the tune of 18 carries for 124 yards and three catches for 14 yards and a touchdown.

But the Chargers can't depend on that for the long haul. Furthermore, they could use some insurance for Hampton upon his return.

Thankfully, it looks like the Chargers are in the market for a running back. ESPN's Adam Schefter told Pat McAfee on Monday that Los Angeles is in search of a running back ahead of the deadline.

"You've got the Chargers looking for a running back, the Steelers looking for a receiver," Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show.

Schefter listed off two running backs who could be available in a separate article he posted on Oct. 10: the New Orleans Saints' Alvin Kamara and the New York Jets' Breece Hall.

Both players have said they don't want to be traded, though.

Kamara reportedly told the team he doesn't want to be moved when asked by the team about the topic, and Hall stated his desire to remain with the Jets publicly.

"I'm here, I wanna be here. I wanna be a New York Jet," Hall told reporters in the lead up to the Week 6 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Either player would be a great addition for Los Angeles and would form a dynamic duo with Hampton when he gets back. If you are looking for a big splash, acquiring either one would be exactly that.

However, the Saints seem allergic to making sensible moves to get their financial house in order and begin a rebuild, so we can see them holding on to a 30-year-old running back who will be on the downside of his career by the time the Saints get their act together, if that ever happens.

Hall seems more likely to be moved. After all, he's in the final year of his contract and it stands to reason he won't be back in 2026.

The Jets are rebuilding and shouldn't be spending significant money on a running back at this stage, and there's a chance Hall isn't keen on coming back, anyway, after how disastrous the Jets have been throughout his time with the franchise.

There will be other running backs available, so let's not limit ourselves to thinking only about the biggest fish in the pond. At this point, just about any move would be better than no move for the banged-up Chargers running backs room.
