Tom Brady is under the microscope again. Many around the NFL are divided over his role in the Las Vegas Raiders' coaching booth during Monday's game vs. the Los Angeles Chargers. Some say this role provides the team with an unfair advantage.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion and minority Raiders owner was spotted wearing a headset alongside the offensive coaching staff during the Raiders' loss. Many do not like his dual roles as a broadcaster for Fox Sports and part-owner of the Raiders.

On Saturday, The Athletic's Dianna Russini shared insights from some NFL owners, head coaches and general managers. Some had strong opinions about the controversy surrounding Brady's dual roles.

“Good! He’s busy doing lots of jobs. Less time to improve the Raiders,” a head coach told Russini. But a general manager argued, “It’s Tom Brady. He’s one of the most shrewd quarterbacks to ever play football. Of course he’s going to soak up everything he can to give the Raiders an edge.”

The NFL maintains Brady did not violate any rules. A league spokesperson said there are no restrictions preventing an owner from sitting in the coaches' booth or wearing a headset during a game. Still, Brady is barred from attending practices or direct team meetings in person.

Some executives express concern that Brady's presence grants the Raiders a competitive edge.

“They are getting an unfair advantage whether they capitalize on it or not,” one NFL owner said. “You don’t think he’s getting info from the crew that is allowed at practice? Of course he is.”

Will this give the Raiders a real edge? The answer won't be clear until the regular season wraps up.
