Will Chiefs get Super Bowl revenge in rematch vs. Eagles? image

The Kansas City Chiefs will enter their Week 2 clash against the Philadelphia Eagles with a few things on their mind.

Andy Reid's team will want to get some sort of revenge for the Super Bowl beatdown last season, and the Chiefs will want to avoid a yuck 0-2 start. So, there's plenty on the line for the defending AFC champs.

Given that the Chiefs and Eagles have seen each other regularly in the past couple of seasons, both will come into this Week 2 game knowing what each other will be trying to do, which makes it a fascinating chess match to observe.

And Reid is ready for the heavyweight bout.

“Look forward to the challenge of playing the Eagles, good football team,” Reid said. “Should be a heck of a game. We know them, they know us, there’s going to be wrinkles in there for both teams, but pretty familiar with each other. They got a lot of guys coming back, we got a lot of guys coming back."

Chiefs already facing gut-check time vs. Eagles

That might be an odd thing to say after just one week, but Kansas City is staring down the barrel of a 0-2 start, something that is unheard of in the Patrick Mahomes era.

Granted, playing in the cozy confines of Arrowhead Stadium will be far better than being in Brazil, but it feels like the Chiefs need this win in the worst way already.

With many doubting Kansas City's ability to reach the top of the NFL mountain again, after the Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, those doubts only grew.

But lose to the Eagles in your own building, and serious questions will be asked. That might seem heavy-handed, given we are one game into the season, but the Chiefs need to get themselves back on track.

And what better way than to hand the defending champs their first loss of the season?
