Travis Hunter appears ready to be a two-way player for the Jacksonville Jaguars to start the 2025 NFL season. However, one current teammate hopes to see the University of Colorado product more on offense than defense.

During an appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was asked about Hunter playing both sides of the ball. Nonetheless, the 22-year-old revealed that offense should be the side Hunter should play to form a tandem.

"So he's going out there making plays where there's an offense, defense," Thomas Jr. said. "I feel like it'll be tough for him, but I feel like he'll be able to do it. Just going out there and seeing him, what he does at practice, I feel like he'll be able to go out there and do it. But me, self-efficially, I would want to move out on the offensive side. Help me out a little bit, track some of those coverages. Me, personally, I feel like he'll definitely be able to do that."

Despite wanting Hunter as a receiver to help him out on offense, Thomas Jr. and the other wide outs are playing a helping hand in preparing the rookie also to be a cornerback since he desires to be a two-way player.

"When he's out there on defense or whatever, I'm talking to the receivers: make sure you all go at him," Thomas Jr. added. "Don't take nothing. Don't go off because he's just him, or still push at him, because at the end of the day, if this is what he want to do, he got to make sure he's at the top of his game. He got to make sure he's getting better each and every day."

It will be interesting to see how Hunter performs on offense and defense early in the season. Another key question is how long Jaguars head coach Liam Coen will give the first-round pick to prove he can excel at both positions.
