When the Indianapolis Colts chose Daniel Jones to start this season at QB over Anthony Richardson, it felt like maybe this would just be a year to position for a draft pick and a quarterback of the future.

But now, Jones has the Colts in recently unfamiliar territory.

After a fortunate penalty helped the Colts get a do-over on a game-winning field goal attempt, Indianapolis pulled out a 29-28 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

With it, the Colts improved to 2-0.

And it's the first time the Colts have been 2-0 since 2009.

"Daniel Jones was terrific once again — 316 yards passing, 2 total TDs, great synergy with Shane Steichen, and still no turnovers. Has been special to watch," wrote NFL insider Jordan Schultz on X.

It's not that Jones has never looked good. At times in his Giants career, he flashed immense talent.

But at other times, he looked like the bust that was eventually cut last season by New York.

This season, the Colts seem to be putting the right guardrails on Jones to allow him to succeed with a lot of talented players around him.

There's no guarantee that this keeps up, but right now Jones legitimately looks like a winning QB.

And for where the Colts began in their offseason competition, this is a great place to find themselves.
