Tyler Warren's NFL debut couldn't have gone a whole lot better.

Turns out, there's one stat that really screams high upside for the Indianapolis Colts' rookie tight end, too.

Warren's yards after the catch were great: He had 33 YAC on seven receptions.

Overall, Warren had seven for 76, but that 33 yards just after getting the ball in his hands emphasize how special he is, and how the Colts plan to use him.

Warren also lined up at fullback on a play for a short-yardage run. Indy certainly trusts him to do positive things when he gets the football.

"The rookie, drafted 14th overall, had a debut that confirmed everything the Colts had projected," ESPN's Stephen Holder writes. "Warren led the team with seven receptions, even hauling in a deep ball from quarterback Daniel Jones. As expected, he was difficult to bring down, with 33 of his 76 yards coming after the catch. Warren also lined up at fullback and converted a first down on a short-yardage dive play, an element to his game he displayed at Penn State. His seven catches tied for the third most by a tight end in his debut."

There will be tougher tests to come. The Miami Dolphins' defense started off mediocre and ended worse after some in-game injuries.

Week 2 brings on the Denver Broncos, a sterling defensive unit who should have a nice coverage plan for Warren.

The Colts surely will still try to involve Warren early and often. In his debut, he had three catches for 43 yards just on the first drive.

For Indianapolis to rack up wins, Warren will have to make plays. He's certainly capable.
