Colts injury report reveals no absentees on Wednesday image

With the Indianapolis Colts’ season opener against the Miami Dolphins quickly approaching, the team gave their first official injury report of the season.

The first practice of the season proved to offer some optimism as just one player was listed with a status designation: Tyler Goodson (elbow) was limited.

Goodson suffered his elbow injury in Indy’s second of three preseason games against the Packers and has been sidelined since. Getting him back to the practice field in time to finalize preparations for Miami ensures the Colts could have the trio of running backs they would like for the opener.

If Goodson were unable to play on Sunday, that leaves just Jonathan Taylor and DJ Giddens as the healthy options on the active roster. On the practice squad, Indy has Khalil Herbert and Ulysses Bentley IV; either player is likely to receive a call up for the opener if Goodson is unavailable.

But practicing at all, even in just a limited fashion, is good news for Goodson. Whether or not he’ll be good to go will be determined later in the week. But overall for the Colts, a clean bill of health to begin the season is always something to be happy about.
