The Indianapolis Colts open their season at home today against the Miami Dolphins, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST.
As a part of standard gameday procedures, both teams must announce their list of 7 or 8 inactive players (number varies whether or not the team utilizes the emergency third quarterback) a minimum of 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
The Colts listed the following players as inactive:
- QB Riley Leonard (emergency third QB)
- RB Tyler Goodson
- TE Will Mallory
- OT Luke Tenuta
- DE JT Tuimoloau
- LB Chad Muma
- CB Johnathan Edwards

Goodson was the only Colt listed on this week’s injury report with an elbow issue he originally suffered in the preseason. He was still able to practice in a limited capacity. The Colts elevated running back Uylsses Bentley IV from the practice squad yesterday in anticipation that Goodson wouldn’t be fully healthy for Sunday.
The other notable choice is JT Tuimoloau, Indy’s second-round pick back in April. Given no Colts entered this week dealing with any sort of injury, Tuimoloau appears to be a healthy scratch. Not exactly the start you would like from such a high draft choice, but Indy is deep on the edge.
Laiatu Latu, Kwity Paye, Tyquan Lewis and Samson Ebukam are all listed higher than the rookie on Indy’s depth chart— a sign the Colts want to lean on veteran experience in their quest to end a 12-year winless streak in season openers.
