The Detroit Lions got some bad news on their injury report on Thursday.

According to the team's first injury report of the week, cornerback D.J. Reed is a new addition to the list and is dealing with a knee issue. Reed was not on Detroit's injury report last week, so his injury is something new.

Detroit has four other starters listed on the injury report in left tackle Taylor Decker, edge rusher Marcus Davenport, safety Kerby Joseph and linebacker Jack Campbell.

Decker, Campbell and Joseph were all on the injury report last week before they ultimately suited up. Davenport is no surprise, either, as he left the Week 3 game following what was originally called a shoulder injury.

Here's a look at the full injury report from Thursday.

Detroit Lions injury report

  • LB Jack Campbell (ankle): No practice
  • EDGE Marcus Davenport (chest): No practice
  • LT Taylor Decker (shoulder): No practice
  • S Kerby Joseph (knee): Limited practice
  • CB D.J. Reed (knee): Limited practice
  • LB Trevor Nowaske (elbow): Full practice
  • RB Sione Vaki (hamstring): Full practice

Campbell's lack of participation mirrors what he did on the first day of last week before getting in two full practices and playing, so there's no concern there yet.

Decker was a non-participant all of last week, so ditto on the lack of concern after he didn't practice on Thursday.

The Lions are still awaiting test results on Davenport, head coach Dan Campbell said on Thursday, so there's no update on him yet.

It is important to note that Davenport was initially diagnosed with a shoulder injury but is now listed with a chest issue.

The fact that Reed was able to log a limited session doesn't leave us too worried about his ability to suit up. The same can be said for Joseph.

Nowaske and Vaki turning in full sessions is an upgrade in participation for both after they were limited all week last week. That suggests they're going to play in Week 3.

The good news for all the players who were either limited or didn't practice is they will have an extra day to get right, as the Lions' game against the Baltimore Ravens doesn't take place until Monday.
