When the schedule came out ahead of the 2025 season, there was one thing NFL fans thought of when they saw the Denver Broncos would be hosting the New York Giants: Russell Wilson gets a shot against his old team.
That didn't happen when the Broncos played the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 last season, as Wilson was injured. Now, he's on the bench. Jaxson Dart is all the rage for the Giants right now, leading the team to wins over the Los Angeles Chargers (who were undefeated at the time) and the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Giants fans are understandably excited about what their future holds, but Jonathon Cooper, a member of the team that leads the NFL in sacks right now, seems less than impressed.
"Yeah I mean he's a young guy, he's, ya know, feeling himself a little bit, he's out there runnin' around, he's got the chain on, he's dancin'. I feel like everybody needs somethin', ya know, but we've went against QBs who have ran around the pocket and have, ya know, tried to do stuff with their legs so... it ain't nothin' we haven't seen", said Cooper when asked about the challenge of facing Dart.
You can bet that the Giants saw that quote and will use it help hype them up for this game. Though a rookie, Dart is not lacking in confidence and has played aggressively in each of his starts this season. He has a good arm, but he is beating teams with his legs this season. Due to the lackluster play the Broncos have received from the inside linebacker position this season, the Broncos will need to be wary of Dart exploiting them right up the middle.
Dart has thrown for 508 yards and four touchdowns in three starts but he's added another 167 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. The Giants are far from the pushover they were at the beginning of the season and quite frankly are much better in the hands of Dart than they would have been with Wilson.

Cooper talked big and rightfully so, as the Broncos' defense has been tremendous this season, leading the league with 30 sacks. But Dart will be looking to make him eat his words.
