Apparently, the Dallas Cowboys' unofficial RB depth chart wasn't lying.
Jaydon Blue, the speedy rookie out of Texas, was listed as the RB3.
And for the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, Blue is inactive as the Cowboys only have two running backs up.
Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders are both active. Blue is not.

Why is Jaydon Blue inactive?
Jaydon Blue is inactive because the Cowboys chose to only keep two running backs available for their matchup with the Eagles.
Veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, who were both offseason free agent signings, are the two active RBs for Dallas.
Blue wasn't listed on the injury report, although he had dealt with a preseason ankle issue. He played in one of the Cowboys' preseason games, rushing nine times that night for 25 yards.
The Cowboys also have fullback Hunter Luepke active in case of RB emergency.

Fantasy replacements for inactive Jaydon Blue
If you were counting on starting Jaydon Blue in a deeper fantasy league, this is a tough break.
The first name to check for on the waiver wire is Ollie Gordon, the Miami Dolphins' rookie running back.
If he's unavailable, guys like Dameon Pierce, Braelon Allen, Dylan Sampson, Bhayshul Tuten, Rachaad White and Ray Davis could be available.
And if it's a super deep league and you need someone to fill-in for Blue, take a look at Ty Johnson, Keaton Mitchell or Isaiah Davis.
Don't drop Blue right now if you don't have to. You might be able to move him to an IR spot if he's listed as out on your site in time. It's worth hearing the explanation for his absence postgame before doing anything more.
