The Dallas Cowboys have not been overly active in free agency. They have made a big move by adding George Pickens, but one of their former receivers thinks they should target a Pro Bowler who is still available.
Dez Bryant played eight seasons with the Cowboys in his career. He had 7,459 yards with the team and scored 73 touchdowns with the team. He has been retired since 2020, but recently noted on X that the team should sign Nick Chubb.
"If the Cowboys get (Chubb) and combine him with (Jaydon) Blue..the Cowboys offense will be the most dangerous in the NFL," Bryant wrote on X. "I really can't find a con if that happens. Think about it.. Blue gets to learn from a dynamic back who plays the game the right way. That's how you mold a young..promising running back."
The Cowboys signed Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders this offseason. However, they drafted Jaydon Blue, who could become a big part of their offense, as Sanders and Williams may be better suited as backups. Chubb was arguably the best running back in the NFL before injuries derailed him. He had over 1,700 scrimmage yards in 2022, his last healthy season.
He is a four-time Pro Bowler, but has played in just 10 games over the last two seasons. He would not need to carry a full workload for the Cowboys, but the team could benefit from having him in their backfield.

Chubb, at worst, would be a great mentor to Blue. He would be a cheap addition to their team as he looks for a team where he can prove he is still a valuable player.
