The Dallas Cowboys currently have the No. 12 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Dallas should be looking to add a weapon to the offense after a down year in 2024. The Cowboys need to improve the running back this offseason, especially with Rico Dowdle heading to free agency.

There has been a lot of speculation about how Boise State superstar Ashton Jeanty could be a fit. He had 2,601 rushing yards for Boise State across 14 games to go along with 29 rushing touchdowns. Obviously, he would be a good fit, but will he be available at No. 12?

That's the big question. FanSided's Maitland Rutledge predicted that the team will end up trading up to get Jeanty, though.

"This is a move more likely to happen and makes the most sense of any potential moves this team could make this offseason," Rutledge said. "NFL Draft analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks project Dallas to take Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty in the first round. However, Eric Edholm thinks he could go sooner, potentially to the Raiders at No. 6. If the Cowboys want to make sure they get their starting running back for next year in the draft, they need to do whatever they can to get him.

"That could mean trading up to got get Jeanty. While Dallas could wait and potentially settle on someone like Quinshon Judkins, Jeanty is comfortably the best running back in this draft class. He will be an instant starter for whoever drafts him. The Cowboys whiffed on running backs this past offseason and they cannot make that same mistake again."

This is just one person's idea, but it is a good one. There are no concrete rumors about potential moves, but this would be a great move. Jeanty is a generational talent and would be just what the Cowboys need. Hopefully, the team can get him.
