The Week 1 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles marks the Dallas Cowboys debut of wide receiver George Pickens, who was acquired via trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this offseason.

Pickens spent three years with the Steelers, and while he was productive in that span despite having a bad quarterback situation in each season, he also had a bad attitude that eventually wore thin on Pittsburgh.

Now, Pickens gets a fresh start with the Cowboys, where he's slated to be the No. 2 wide receiver behind CeeDee Lamb. He'll also have the best quarterback situation of his career with Dak Prescott under center in Dallas.

While that's all great, Pickens is off to a quiet start in his Cowboys debut.

Is George Pickens playing tonight?

George Pickens is active and playing for the Cowboys in their Week 1 matchup versus the Eagles. Pickens has been targeted twice through two offensive drives, including on a deep ball that drew a pass interference.

We can't say his slow start is totally surprising. After all, he's not the No. 1 option in Dallas and he's playing in a new offense and with a new quarterback.

Adding to that, this is his very first live-game action with the Cowboys and Prescott after not playing a single preseason snap for Dallas.

Pickens' lack of production isn't going to be a problem early on, but rest assured he is going to start getting angry sooner rather than later if it continues. You need not look any further than his history with the Steelers to know that.
