Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones provided an optimistic update on cornerback DaRon Bland's foot injury during Sunday's pregame interview on 105.3 The Fan.

The Athletic's Jon Machota tweeted: "Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on the 105.3 The Fan pregame show made it sound like CB DaRon Bland (foot) would be out next week but a realistic chance he could return the following week vs. Green Bay."

The Cowboys face the Chicago Bears in Week 3. In Week 4, on Sept. 28, they host the Green Bay Packers at AT&T Stadium. It's likely Bland will make his return in that game, the same one where Micah Parsons faces his former team for the first time since his trade to Green Bay.

On Saturday, Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones also provided a positive update on the cornerback.

"We feel really good that it's going to be of the short end of the stick in terms of how much time he misses," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "Hopefully not more than a couple games."

It's now evident that the injury is short-term. A clear update on whether Bland will play in the Packers game is expected by next week.
