The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons remain at an impasse over a contract extension. If the two sides can't find common ground, could Jerry Jones and the organization finally consider listening to offers—not necessarily this season, but perhaps next offseason?
Dallas have one more preseason contest on Friday against the Atlanta Falcons; after that, the games start to count. With no contract extension in sight, the question is when will Parsons show up on the field and whether he's content not having that security of a new deal.
Nonetheless, if he plays without a new deal, the question is whether the Cowboys accept at some point throughout the season that a trade will need to happen, and they'll be listening to offers after the campaign.
Would the Cowboys eventually trade Micah Parsons?
Jon Machota of The Athletic joined "GBAG Nation" on 105.3 The Fan and shared his thoughts on whether Parsons and Dallas are heading toward a divorce.
"Maybe next offseason," Machota said. "I don't see it happening during the season. I could see them having to play this out, and then next offseason they get a good offer from a team, because I do think that'll be a more opportune time to give a better deal than what they'll probably get offered right now."

Nonetheless, Machota believes the offseason offers the Cowboys the best chance to maximize their return, securing multiple draft picks to help rebuild the roster.
"I don't think it's completely 100 percent that they would never trade him," Machota added. "I think it's very unlikely, but I mean, these all get to a point where it's like, well, it might be best for both sides to just move on.
"And then I just feel like next offseason, that's when you look at where you are in the draft, where these teams that are offering picks to you are in the draft, what you can get in return, and how quickly you can turn that around into something that really helps you."
