The Dallas Cowboys have lost both of their preseason games. While preseason results usually don't matter much, their play and the absence of Micah Parsons on defense heading into Week 1 raise concerns from at least one national media person.

Dallas are entering a new era with head coach Brian Schottenheimer after letting go of Mike McCarthy. Moreover, the Cowboys also made a key addition to the offense when they landed George Pickens.

Still, the Cowboys are in a challenging NFC East with the Washington Commanders reaching the NFC title game while the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl. As a result, could 2025 be a rough season for Dallas?

Will the Cowboys miss the playoffs again?

After missing the playoffs last season with a 7-10 record, FS1's Colin Cowherd offered a bold take on "The Colin Cowherd Podcast" regarding the 2025 outlook for Dallas.

"I think the Cowboys are going to s--- the bed Week 1. I think it's going to be a disastrous season," Cowherd said. "I don't like their defensive personnel. They've got two or three things that get in the way of winning. One, their division has gotten better.

"Two, their offensive line is really in flux, and they don't have elite running backs to begin with. So it's going to be very Dak Prescott-dependent, which is not good. I mean, he's not the quarterback that can carry a franchise. He needs help. No run game, work in progress. And the defense was terrible last year."

The cloud hanging around the Cowboys is what's going to happen with Parsons. Will the two sides come to an agreement, or will the Penn State product stand his ground and push for a trade since he's already requested to be moved publicly?

Should Parsons leave and the Cowboys struggle on both sides of the football as Cowherd predicts, Dallas could be heading toward a season in which they'll have a top 10 pick at next year's NFL Draft and be in the middle of a soft rebuild.
